Crawling doesn’t Work in Sharepoint

Error 1
Access is denied. Check that the Default Content Access Account has access to this content, or add a crawl rule to crawl this content. (The item was deleted because it was either not found or the crawler was denied access to it.)

Error 2
An unrecognized HTTP status was received. Check that the address can be accessed using Internet Explorer.

Common reason is that the existing site does not have an extended web application (sharing the same content as the parent web application) on a different zone with NTLM/Windows Integrated authentication.
The search crawler accesses to site content with NTLM account. It will get an Access Denied error when accessing to the form-authentication site.

Therefore, it will need a new web application with the same site content as the form-auth site and with the NTLM authentication enabled. And this can be achieved by using the feature “Extend an existing web application”.

(Extend the web application)

Go to Central Administration > Application Management page
Click Create or Extend web application and select Extend an existing web application
Make sure if the web application field shows the one you have set up the form authentication. If not, click on the drop down menu and select the web application in a popup dialog, e.g. SharePoint - 80
Either choose to use the randomly-generated port or assign a port. (The extended web application will be located at this port and share the same content as the original web application)
Select NTLM
Select No for Allow Anonymous option
Choose a zone (e.g. custom)
Click OK
After the web app is extended, the page will be redirected to the central administration page.
To test the site, please access to the extended web application and log on to the site with your search crawl account.

Grant Permission
Please make sure if the search crawl account has access to the new web application. If not, please follow these steps to grant permission
Go to Central Administration > Application Management page
Click on Policy for web application
Click on Add Users

Make sure if the web application field shows the one you have set up the form authentication.
Select the zone that you extended the web application (e.g. custom)
Click Next
Enter the crawl account username to Users field
Check Full Read for the permission
Click Finish To test the site, please access to the extended web application and log on to the site with your search crawl account.

Oracle's order by

When writing SQL for Oracle db, I discovered that when you are doing a 'order by' with more columns you have to specify the 'asc/desc' for every column seperately. So if you do something like this:
order by column1, column2 desc only column1 will be sorted in descending order.

You have to write the SQL like this:
order by column1 desc, column2 desc

I thought this would be a good tip to share

Nokia 888 communicator concept phone

Nokia 888 communicator concept phone

Now, you’re not going to see this in stores any time soon. But if you’d like to get an idea of what Nokia thinks the future of communications will look like, take a look at the Nokia 888 communicator, a concept design that recently won Nokia’s Benelux design contest. The bracelet-like 888 is envisioned to use a liquid battery, feature speech recognition, a flexible touch screen, and a touch sensitive body cover.
A video showing off the device’s potential features shows off close to a dozen functions, including an alarm clock, PDA, GPS, phone, push email receiver, digital wallet and, of course, jewelry. And, other than the “liquid battery,” we can actually see this in the not-too-distant future. Just give us some full-color E-ink, flexible OLED displays and inkjet-printed circuit boards, and we’re almost there.

NASA predicts Worldwide Holiday on Feb 1, 2019

NASA predicts Worldwide Holiday on Feb 1, 2019 as the world is scheduled to end

Even though websites / NASA says the probability is low, independent researchers have found that the impact will be towards the Asia / Africa continent. The West is dismissing reports as their biggest 2 threats, CHINA and INDIA will be eliminated with this impact.
There has been so much speculation by certain Chinese scientists that last week, Spet 05, the main researcher, Mr. Siu Lim was found dead in his laboratory but the cause of death was undetermined as a perfect fit man cannot suddenly die from a blood clot in his brain.
Researchers are encouraging Asian governments to take more interest in this matter
